Great for a game with a few people when you don’t want to bother sitting around a table with a board or fussing with lots of pieces. Family friendly and there are questions to suit most people. A couple of issues in that game play is a bit biased to whichever team or individual goes first. To make it fair, you need to start with a new team/person each time. We did it as individuals and passed the role of Mr Lister (question reader) on each round. The other issue is that there is no replay value on the cards as once you know the answers you can’t play it fairly again. There are quite a lot of cards though, so plenty for a good amount of games.

This game is well packaged, well made and good to play. It is let down somewhat though by the fact that many of the questions are out of date, relating to events in 2015 or earlier which is not indicated on the box.For some questions this wasn’t much of a problem but for others, such as ‘name the parties who won seats in the general election’ it caused frustration that the answers related to 2015 and ignored the one 2017. Many don’t mention the year – E.g. when asked to name people who have appeared on UK bank notes Churchill (2016) doesn’t appear. This makes the game largely unplayable.

Such a simple but fantastic game! Having never heard of Mr Lister, I thought it was worth a punt for £15…I wasn’t disappointed! The game can easily be played as individuals or teams (we played as 6 teams of pairs with one quiz master). The questions are all current (some referencing 2015) and are all suited to the UK (no random American questions). The majority of the question cards really got the competitiveness going and were all pitched at just the right level (not University challenge). The idea of the golden answers also built the suspense when going around the group, and encourages people to give more alternative answers rather than just going for the easy ones. All in all a great party game that can last for as long as you want it to (just decide how many cards the winner needs to collect). Highly recommended

Family enjoyed playing it

Bought as present so do not know how good or bad it was.

We played in pairs, which makes it easier to include children younger than the suggested 14 years old. Easy to play from 10 years up or so. They might not know any Beatles records, but they will know birds and crisps. We enjoyed it for an hour or so round the Christmas table. We also managed to slide the cards down to read the question underneath without revealing the answers, so the question master could take part in the game too (apart from the shoot out question….). Happy with purchase, would definitely recommend
